My experience includes the study of economics and education leading to many years of being a teacher and an advocate of peace, civil rights, feminism, unions, universal healthcare, and economic and social justice. I participated in the early efforts to establish the clinic and I am very proud to say that I was on the founding board of directors of Hill Country Community Clinic. in 1982. I served as Chairperson for ten years and have been the Vice Chairperson of the board ever since.
I am on the board of Acorn Community Enterprises, a subsidiary of Hill Country Clinic. I have been the Chairperson of that board since 2012. I am also the Station Manager of KKRN Community Radio.
